In the body, the part above the waist is called east and the part below the waist is called west, so Paschimottana and Purvottan are two asanas in yoga, which are opposite to each other. Viparita asana in yoga, performed to prevent the ill effects of the first asana, is an essential process. Purvottana asana is very useful for making the parts above the waist like abdomen, back, neck, shoulders, arms and wrist joints etc. flexible, strong, healthy and beautiful.

Process:- For this posture, first sit on the ground with both the legs spread together in front.

इस आसन के लिए पहले जमीन पर दोनों टांगों को सामने की तरफ एक साथ फैलाकर बैठ जाएं।


Keep the fingers of both the hands facing forward and place them on either side of the back of your thighs.

दोनों हाथों की उंगलियां सामने की तरफ करके अपनी जांघों के पिछले हिस्से के दोनों तरफ रखें।


Then while lifting this part up, tilt the neck back.

फिर इसी भाग को ऊपर उठाते हुए गर्दन को पीछे झुकाएं।


Stay in this posture for 10 to 20 breaths.

इस आसन में 10 से 20 सांसों तक रूकें।
